Product
Nexia Wellness is a holistic health platform connecting users with wellness professionals. It's the project where I moved from implementing features to leading how they got built — owning everything from API integration to SEO to the code review process.
The platform offers personalized wellness programs, expert consultations, progress tracking and real-time communication between users and professionals, sitting behind authentication and subscription-based access.

My Role
- Developed and integrated REST APIs, with a focus on performance and consistent error handling
- Implemented structured logging to make production issues traceable
- Built the responsive experience end-to-end, from layout to interaction detail
- Owned technical SEO — meta tags, structured data and sitemap generation
- Translated design files into reusable, accessible components
- Improved page-speed through lazy loading, image optimization and Next.js SSR/SSG
- Led development on key surfaces, including code reviews and security standards
Challenge
A subscription wellness product has to earn trust fast — through page speed, polish and clarity — while handling real complexity underneath: authenticated user state, subscription tiers, real-time communication and a growing API surface.
- Keeping a data-heavy, authenticated product fast without sacrificing SEO on its public-facing pages
- Coordinating frontend and backend work so the API surface stayed consistent as features grew
- Maintaining code quality and security standards across a growing team of contributors
Approach
- Used Next.js SSR/SSG selectively — static and server-rendered where SEO and speed mattered most, client-rendered where interactivity took priority.
- Set up a component architecture designed to be translated directly from design files, reducing the gap between design intent and shipped UI.
- Ran code reviews as a standing practice, using them to enforce security standards and consistency across the codebase.
Engineering
- Built and integrated REST APIs with structured error handling and logging for production traceability
- Implemented authentication-aware, responsive UI across the product's core flows
- Handled technical SEO — meta tags, structured data and sitemap — for the platform's public surfaces
- Reduced load times through lazy loading, image optimization and page-speed tuning
- Used Next.js SSR/SSG to balance freshness, SEO and performance across different page types
Outcome
Nexia Wellness shipped as a production subscription platform, with a frontend architecture and API layer built to support ongoing feature growth.
